No not the songs or videos but as an app. I ran across this when downloading some programs to my IPhone. Universal joined up with a development team to make an app for Lil Wayne. What it does it lets you take your pictures and add some of Wayne’s jewels to it. So you can take some ridiculous pics to show people. I would never get it but it shows selling CDs and ring tones aren’t the only way to make money. People actually pay $1.99 for this.

Since the time of Kool Herc, Afrika Bambataa, Grandmaster Flash and the chosen few creators, “rap”, as a genre has underseen some vast changes. Associating itself with street based art, often making strong social and political statements, new forms of dance, and the evolution of dJ’ing, the idea of Akon, Destiny’s Child and even Sugababes being awarded with “Hip Hop” accolades seems a far cry from the original movement that entailed a completely new lifestyle for the New York youth.
